43%

These are true stories and memories of where I have been. I spent years in foster care and like an estimated 43% of all foster kids who “age-out” of foster care I eventually became homeless and had to work especially hard to survive.

Older foster kids are in need of life-skills training like nutrition & cooking, finance & money management, work related skills, help with college admissions, personal health care, relationships, and child care training.

If you have any of these skills, please consider becoming a foster parent or mentoring an older foster child.

(Please note that by being a foster parent you will not make money, your home will not be cleaner, your expectations may not be met, you may not get many thank you notes… but you may get the chance to give a soul some direction and focus.)
